A great week which really shows how well the club is doing from 10s to seniors and how far we have come this season to date.
I have attached the stories from the academy website to go with each piece of news.
1 – Last weekend we had a great weekend of results following a disappointing draw against Conwy with first team. Our 19s destroyed Conwy by ten goals to nil to re gain top spot. Our 13s drew 3-3 away to current North Wales academy champions Prestatyn Town and our 12’s 14’s and 16’s all beat Newtown away in the academy cup. Our 12s won 1-0 ,14s 8-1 and 16s 3-2. Following this our 10s and 11s faced Airbus with 11s losing 5-3 and 10s winning 5-0.

The same from the under 19s reserve game can be seen on following link. Some great goals scored. George Baxter’s definitely worth a watch:

2 – A total of five players from the academy have earned trials at professional clubs, bringing this seasons tally to date to a huge 30 players. Under 10’s Sam Williams, Daniel Spaven and Josh Edwards will be trialling at Stoke City with under 12’s Jack Wynne and Dominic McHugh earning trials at Everton.

3 – Six under 19 players selected to play for North East Wales. This brings the total to 9 Nomads players having represented the side this season to date. The side won the game 3-2 with all goals coming from Nomads players

2 Under 19 players represent Wales national under 18 side.
I was fortunate enough to be assistant manager again for this fixture with ex Neath manager Terry Boyle the manager of the national team. Players Shaun Tinsley and Jordan Beck travelled to Ireland where they enjoyed a two day training camp and played against the Republic of Ireland. This was Shaun Tinsley’s second cap and he was the only player retained from last season’s squad. Tinsley started with Beck coming on for final 30 minutes. Both played superbly and were a real credit to the club. The Wales side won by two goals to one.

A great week for the club and we hope for another good weekend of football starting tomorrow.
Our tens faced Wigan this evening and won 7-0!. They are in action in the morning again against Flint followed by our huge first team game against Porthmadog in which we have local junior team Deeside Phoenix bringing all their sides and under 12s coming out with the team.
Our 12s, 13s and 14s are also in action Sunday again with games against Flint and Druids.
The club as a whole is the best it has ever been from top to bottom and we still have a long way to go.
I hope all Nomads fans come down and show their support in the club’s quest to get back to where it belongs in the Welsh Premier and keep pushing our club to bigger and better things.
